Police are investigating an attack on Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe by another patient at a high security hospital.
The 61-year-old is thought to have been stabbed in the face by another inmate on a ward at Broadmoor at Crowthorne, Berkshire, on Saturday.
Thames Valley Police have confirmed they are investigating an attack.
Sutcliffe, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, was jailed for life in 1981 for 13 murders.
Stabbed with pen
The former lorry driver is already blind in one eye after a series of attacks, including being stabbed with a pen 10 years ago.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "We are investigating an assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident at Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne.
"The incident, involving two patients, happened at around 12.30pm on Saturday 22 December."
He said no arrest has been made and the victim suffered only minor injuries.
The spokesman said that although it happened on Saturday, the alleged attack was not reported to police until Thursday.
