Taxi driver attacked and robbed

A taxi driver is recovering after being attacked and robbed in Essex.

The 44-year-old man picked five men up from Baddow Road in Chelmsford and drove them to South Woodham Ferrers in the early hours of the morning.

When he dropped them off in Merchant Street they assaulted him, attacked and damaged his car and stole his takings.

Essex Police said the group of men were aged between 18 and 19. Anyone who saw the group or anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call the police.
