Drink workers strike a third time

Coca-Cola cans Workers at a soft drinks factory in Milton Keynes are set to stage a third strike over pay.

The Unite union said 100 of its members walked out of the Coca-Cola production plant for 24 hours last Thursday.

They are expected to repeat the strike action from 1800 BST as part of a campaign to get a better pay deal.

A Coca-Cola Enterprises spokeswoman said the strike would affect only two of the four shifts at the plant and supplies would not be affected.

Workers who have walked out twice already in the past month have already rejected a 2.5% pay offer.

The company said they were continuing talks with the union to resolve the issues.
