Man on defecating charge detained

A man who admitted causing more than £20,000 criminal damage by defecating in trains has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act indefinitely.

Bonney Eberndu, 36, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and having an offensive weapon at a previous magistrates' hearing.

He was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday.

Eberndu was charged last year in connection with 22 incidents on trains across the south east of England.
