A postman who teaches young people the dangers of binge drinking has become joint Community Postman of the Year.
Clive Loveday, 50, from Hawkesworth delivery office, Swindon, Wilts, lost his son, Matthew, 19, after he drank a mix of spirits at a party.
Mr Loveday describes himself as "just an ordinary dad" who wants to help spread the word on the danger of drink.
He shares his title with London postman Dave Ryan who for 38 years has taught boxing to hundreds of youngsters.
Mr Ryan is head coach of the Times Amateur Boxing Club.
'Good time'
Mr Loveday plans to use the £1,000 to go into a trust in Matthew's memory.
"The money will be used to improve the quality of talks I give at schools and colleges," said Mr Loveday.
"Hopefully it will also help me put his story out around the world and make people realise you can have a good time drinking alcohol and not end up in hospital.
"Everyone at Royal Mail has been so supportive since news broke of Matthew's death. The staff at Hawkesworth had a collection for me and the money was used for a plaque on his grave."
The awards were hosted by TV presenter Lorraine Kelly at Royal Mail's 1st Class People Awards in London on Monday.
