Man charged with takeaway arson
A 63-year-old man has been charged with arson and attempted murder following a fire at a Chinese takeaway in Surrey.
The blaze broke out at the Norman House takeaway, in Salfords, near Reigate, just before midnight on Friday. No-one was injured.
Lap Yan Chu, from Ringwood, Hampshire, was arrested that night, and charged by detectives the following day.
He was remanded in custody until 21 May at the Old Bailey when he appeared before magistrates in Reigate.
