Big Brother winner in club attack

Anthony Hutton Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton has been treated in hospital after he was attacked on a night out.

The 24-year-old reality TV star, from Consett, County Durham, was at Baby Grand nightclub, Manchester when he was attacked in the early hours of Sunday.

He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary and treated for facial injuries. He was later discharged.

Police said a 25-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further enquiries.

Mr Hutton won £50,000 last summer after the British public voted him their favourite contestant in the 2005 Big Brother house.

Minor injuries

Since leaving the house, the former nightclub dancer has released a keep-fit DVD and appeared in panto in Darlington.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said officers had been called to Peter Street, in the city centre, following reports of an assault.

She said: "Officers went to Baby Grand where a 24-year-old man was found with minor facial injuries.

"He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment and was subsequently discharged.

"A man from Higher Poynton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of Section 47 assault."

The man has been bailed until 7 May.
