Fight to stop chicken farm plan

Villagers are campaigning to stop controversial plans for a free range chicken farm on their doorsteps.

A developer wants to put an egg production unit with 11,000 birds on the open field site in Hargrave.

But people living in the village, on Northamptonshire's Bedfordshire border, are concerned about the traffic and its possible effect on the environment.

They have sent in nearly 70 objections to East Northants Council, which is due to consider the plan on Wednesday.
