The Council for the Protection of Rural England has raised more concerns about the proposed multi-million pound expansion of Wolverhampton Business Airport.
In a report which was published on Wednesday, the CPRE said the plans to enlarge the airport and RAF Cosford in Shropshire would cause substantial "disturbance".
It also said the government has taken "insufficient account" of the problems a new airport in the Midlands would cause.
The report looked at the effect a new airport would have on rural tranquillity.
Court battle
The news was welcomed by protestors in Shropshire and Staffordshire who do not want a new enlarged airport on their doorstep.
Residents and councillors from across the Wyre Forest region will also be holding a meeting in Kidderminster on Wednesday night to voice their opposition to the proposed expansion.
They will meet with Wyre Forest MP Richard Taylor, who has joined the campaign against the expansion, and representatives of the Wolverhampton Airport Action Group (WAAG).
In recent weeks, the National Trust and Advantage West Midlands have also voiced concerns about the plans for the site at Halfpenny Green, Bobbington, Staffordshire.
In May, campaigners fighting to block the expansion said they were prepared to take their battle to court.
Members of WAAG wrote a constitution approved by solicitors which marked them as an official organisation that could take legal action as a recognised body.
It means that any attempt to expand the airport could be blocked or held up for years in the courts.
