Inquests into the deaths of three youths have been opened and adjourned in Cumbria.
Gareth Lewis, 18, and Victoria Clarke, 15, both from Grange-over-Sands were killed along with 19-year-old Anthony Ramsden, from Ulverston in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday.
The car, driven by Mr Lewis, crashed into a tree on the A590 as they headed towards Ulverston.
A fourth youngster was seriously hurt in the accident at Greenodd, between Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness.
Furness coroner, Ian Smith, will formally opened the inquests on Monday.
However it is likely that inquiries into exactly how the car came to leave the road will take some weeks.
Special cats' eyes
Police say the Vauxhall Nova car left the narrow winding section of road and hit a tree at 0335 GMT.
The injured teenager is being treated at Furness General Hospital in Barrow.
A fifth occupant was slightly hurt and was allowed to go home after treatment.
The A590 was closed for nearly six hours after the accident, and reopened at 0900 GMT.
The stretch where the accident happened has been the scene of a number of fatalities.
It has special cats' eyes which stay alight to help drivers keep to the road.
Anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to call Cumbria Police's motor support group in Kendal.
