A cat which became the focus of a legal battle when she went missing and was re-housed is back with her original owners.
Susie and Paul Wainman, from Portslade, near Brighton, successfully won a court order forcing rescue centre boss Michael Tulley to reveal the address of the family to whom 10-month-old Saffie was given.
Mr Tulley had initially refused to reveal the pet's whereabouts after she had been rescued and re-homed by the centre following her disappearance from the Wainman's home in Garden Close.
A court date was set for Thursday if Mr Tulley refused to give the Wainmans details of Saffie's new address.
But on Monday Saffie arrived back at the Wainman's home after Mr Tulley contacted the family to say she had been returned to the cat shelter where she could be picked up.
Mr Wainman said: "She was looking a bit lacklustre at first but she is coming back round again now. She is happier because she is at home.
"We are obviously happy to have her back but we had to go through a lot of emotional upheaval to get her back."
