People in Richmond were shocked when the naked picture of the magazine FHM's "High Street Honeys" winner, Tanya Robinson, 21, appeared above the 100-year-old watering hole.
The Fleece on Victoria Road has now reverted to its original title after briefly flirting with the name The Tanya's Charms.
Managers have also removed the sign, a drawing of Miss Robinson as she was featured on the front cover of FHM, after just three days.
The tribute to her victory in the magazine's High Street Honeys competition echoed the publication's infamous image of Gail Porter, which was projected on to the side of the Houses of Parliament.
The town mayor Stuart Parsons said the move had divided opinion among people in the town - whose MP is former Conservative leader William Hague.
Mr Parsons said: "I can understand why some people are shaken by it.
"It is a difficult one because it is not quite what I would expect in a heritage and conservation area."
Pub manager Sam Collett said: "The regular customers think it is a fantastic idea although some of the people I have been speaking to were not too happy about it."
A barman at the pub has confirmed that the picture of Miss Robinson had been removed but would not comment on the reasons.
The pub's sign has now been replaced by a picture of a farmer with a sheep.
