New speed cameras at a notorious Leeds accident blackspot have been rendered useless by vandals.
The fixed speed cameras have been installed on Tong Road in Wortley - the scene of 43 casualties over the last five years - in an attempt to cut the accident rate.
But the yellow boxes, rooted in the ground with concrete, have been swivelled around at the neck, in some cases focusing on people's homes.
West Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership has installed three sets of cameras along the stretch of road.
Steve Thornton, a spokesman for the organisation, told BBC Radio Leeds: "I'm not sure what the motives are as to why they're moving it but we must make sure that people like this will not prevent us making Tong Road safe."
He added: "There are maybe 75% of people exceeding the speed limit here, some going very quickly, and that's going to lead to injuries."
