Police reconstruct lawyer's murder

Detectives hunting the killer of a retired solicitor are staging a reconstruction of events leading up to his death.

Christopher Scholey, 53, was attacked at about 1130 BST on 30 September in the Cross Flatts Park area of the city.

He sustained severe injuries, including a stab wound to the heart, from which he later died.

West Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who was in the area between 1000 BST and 1230 BST on the day of the murder to return on 28 October.

Reward offered

Information gained from the reconstruction will be used by a police computer expert to plot the movements and descriptions of everyone in the park.

The team of detectives have already spoken to 170 people in the vicinity.

Members of the legal profession in Barnsley, where Mr Scholey was a partner in the Mills, Kemp and Brown law firm, have put forward a £10,000 reward

A 35-year-old man has been arrested and questioned in relation to murder. He is on bail pending further inquiries
