Prince Charles and Mrs Parker Bowles visited Sandringham Flower Show in Norfolk on Wednesday.
The band of the Dragoon Guards played "Consider Yourself" from the musical Oliver as the couple toured the showground on the Royal Sandringham Estate near King's Lynn.
The Queen Mother, who was patron of the show, was a fixture at the event and had attended every show since the war.
Many spectators said the atmosphere at the show was noticeably muted following the Queen Mother's death earlier this year.
The Prince and Mrs Parker Bowles spent around two hours visiting marquees and displays at the show.
Some visitors expressed surprise that Mrs Parker Bowles visited the show.
Queen Mother missed
Veronica Bailey, 58, of Histon, near Cambridge, who has been attending the show for more than 25 years, said: "It is different without the Queen Mother. I have missed her.
"I was surprised to see Camilla here. I didn't think that she would be here today.
"Maybe later - another year. But I was pleased to see her."
Edna Davis, 78, of Heacham, Norfolk said: "It's not the same without the Queen Mother.
"She was a lovely lady and the crowds are definitely less this year but I don't see why Camilla shouldn't attend."
