Girl dies after fairground fall
A 15-year-old girl who fell 30 feet from a ferris wheel at a theme park in Cheshire has died in hospital.
The girl fell from the wheel at Gulliver's World theme park in Warrington, on Saturday.
She was taken to the intensive care unit of Warrington District General Hospital.
The teenager, from Nelson in Lancashire, suffered severe head injuries in the incident, which happened at about 1630 BST.
Members of her family had been at her bedside over the weekend.
Cheshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out a joint investigation into the incident.
A police spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether the safety bar of the gondola the girl was sitting in on the ferris wheel had opened.
Members of the girl's family were understood to have been with her when the accident happened.
They were visiting the park as part of an organised group.
