Kiss for a prince

Prince William grinned as he picked up his prize for winning a charity polo match - a kiss from supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

She also presented him with a silver trophy, but that barely registered.

The 31-year-old model was watching William and his father Prince Charles play in the star-studded match at Ashe Park, near Basingstoke, Hampshire.

A host of celebrities featured among the delighted spectators who cheered as Prince William stepped up for his prize.

Television stars Carol Vorderman, Cilla Black, and actors Robert Bathurst and Hermione Norris from ITV's comedy drama Cold Feet enjoyed the play.

Also looking on were Coronation Street's Bill Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, Tracy Shaw, better known as hairdresser Maxine Peacock, and Jimmi Karkishin, who plays shop owner Dev Alahan.

The polo match was staged in aid of the National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy, the Hampshire Countryside Education Group and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Options.
