Mr Hanson's employers put up a £10,000 reward

Furniture salesman Robert Hanson, 43, died of severe head injuries after the attack in the early hours of 23 December in the Bramley area of Leeds.

On Thursday detectives arrested two local men aged 17 and 20.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the men were taken to Leeds for questioning.

Cash reward

Mr Hanson was discovered unconscious at about 0600 GMT by a man on his way to work on a well-lit footpath near the Wickes DIY store at the junction of Leeds Ring Road and Pudsey Road.

Police believe his head may have been stamped on several times during the attack.

A £10,000 reward was offered by his employers, Harvey's, for information leading to the conviction of his killers.

Mr Hanson, from Salford, Greater Manchester, had been visiting relatives in Gamble Hill Croft, Bramley, on the night he died and left at 0120 GMT.

Detectives have said they believe robbery was a possible motive for the attack.
