The award, to be given to one student each year, will be run by Weston College in Weston-super-Mare, the town where Miss Dando was born and grew up.

At present, university students are required to pay tuition fees of up to £1,000 a year.
Mr Williams said: "We thought it would be good to name a bursary after Jill, to encourage students, particularly females, to follow in her footsteps."
The college is running 11 other bursaries in different subjects, each sponsored by a local company.
The Weston Mercury, where Miss Dando began her journalistic career, could be approached to help fund the journalism bursary.
Miss Dando attended the Weston Sixth Form Centre, which is due to merge with Weston College in September.
The college is currently being run by the college on a management contract from the local education authority.
