Police have been given more time to question five men arrested in Birmingham under the Terrorism Act.
The men, aged 29 to 36, were arrested in dawn raids on Tuesday, and warrants have been issued to detain them for up to a week.
West Midlands Police said the arrests followed a complex investigation by its counter-terrorism unit.
Forensic officers have finished searching six properties but investigations continue at another two.
Specialist forensic teams are reported to have removed a large number of items from six homes and two business premises, one in Birmingham and the other in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
One house in Hodge Hill, Birmingham, and a business address close to the city centre are still being searched.
The dawn raids took place in the Sparkhill, Ward End, Hodge Hill, Bordesley Green and Aston areas of the city.
