A man who knew some of the 7 July bombers has pleaded guilty to possessing an al-Qaeda training guide.
Khalid Khaliq, 34, admitted owning a CD containing the manual, which was found in a raid at his home in July 2005.
A further count of possession of information likely to be used for terrorism was laid on file.
The judge at Leeds Crown Court ordered Khaliq should be cleared of a third similar charge. He is due to be sentenced on Tuesday.
Khaliq, of Beeston, Leeds, was pictured white-water rafting in Wales with, among others, the 7 July bombers Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer.
The photo was taken weeks before Khan and Tanweer took part in the bombings of three tubes and a bus in London, which killed 52 people, in July 2005.
Judge James Stewart QC said he would face a maximum sentence of two years.
Khaliq was one of four people arrested in West Yorkshire and Birmingham in May 2007.
The other three - Hasina Patel, the widow of Mohammad Sidique Khan, her brother Arshad Patel and Imran Motala - were released without charge a week later.
