Terror charge dropped against men

Scales of Justice at the Old Bailey A charge of conspiring to possess money for terrorist purposes held against two men has been dropped.

The Old Bailey heard the prosecution has discontinued its case against the men, who were arrested on 3 October last year, on that count.

Adam Mohamed, 28, of Chessington, Surrey, faces no further charges.

Imad Shoubaki, 31, of Merton, south London, faces three further charges of owning terrorism documents allegedly found on computer discs at his home.

Viv Goddard, prosecuting, said two of the documents were called How To Be An Assassin and Zaad e Mujahid, and a third detailed how to make explosives.

Mr Shoubaki appeared in court via video link from Belmarsh Prison and was watched by several members of his family from the public gallery.

Mr Justice Calvert-Smith adjourned the case for a plea and case management hearing on 7 March.
