Many of the papers accuse Chancellor Alistair Darling of stealing Tory ideas for his pre-budget report.
The Daily Mail refers to him as "Mr Magpie" while, in the Daily Telegraph, he is pictured as a burglar.
The Daily Mirror is alone among the papers in believing the government has outmanoeuvred the opposition.
It calls Mr Darling "the crafty chancellor" and says that he has wrong-footed the Tories with plans of his own to slash inheritance tax.
End of letter?
The Telegraph warns that Britain's biggest postal strike is putting the future of Royal Mail in jeopardy.
The Independent says the dispute over pay and pensions between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union could "hasten the end of the letter".
Cartoonist, Matt, has a different take on the story in the Telegraph.
A woman is pictured making a confession to her husband. She says: "I admit it, there is someone else. I've been seeing the postman - but not very often."
DNA discovery
The Sun and the Daily Express carry the story of two women from the Czech Republic whose babies were accidentally swapped by a hospital after birth.
The children are now 10 months old and the mothers face the prospect of having to swap them back after a DNA test revealed the mistake.
The mothers describe how they bonded with their daughters even though they felt something was not quite right.
"You love your daughter but at the end of the day she is not yours," one says.
'Considerable mark'
The Guardian is just one of the papers to feature a photo of a huge footprint thought to have been made by a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The metre-square footprint is thought to be more than 67 million years old.
The print was found in Montana, in the US, by Briton Phil Manning, from the University of Manchester.
The Daily Mirror also runs the story. Dr Manning calls it "fantastic", adding "this is the first time you have a footprint from a big predatory dinosaur -and slap in the middle of T Rex county".
