Two released in Vicky murder inquiry

Detectives investigating the murder of sixth former Vicky Hall have released two of the three people they arrested.

Victoria, 17, vanished while walking from a nightclub in Felixstowe, Suffolk, to her home in nearby Trimley St Mary in the early hours of 19 September last year.

Her naked body was found in a water-filled ditch 25 miles away at Creeting St Peter, Suffolk, five days later.

Police are not certain how she died but believe that she may have been asphyxiated.

Police questioning

A 23-year-old man from Trimley St Mary was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier a 22-year-old man was arrested at his home on the outskirts of Felixstowe on suspicion of murder, and a 21-year-old woman from Trimley St Mary was arrested in Ipswich on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The two arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert justice were later freed on police bail, without charge, pending further inquiries.

Missing clothes

Victoria said goodnight to friend Gemma Algar, 17, at a junction about 100 yards from her home.

She was never seen alive again. Residents on the estate where she lived reported hearing a woman scream.

The teenager's home was a minute away from the main A14 road which runs between Felixstowe and the east Midlands.

Her body was found a similar distance away from the A14.

Detectives are certain that Victoria was either forced or persuaded into a car as she approached her home.

Police are still looking for the clothes Victoria was wearing when she vanished.

Searches of verges along the A14 and widespread public appeals have failed to find any trace of her dress, jacket and shoes.

Last week police called on anyone who may have noticed a partner or relative behaving unusually to get in touch.
