Man charged with murdering lab technician

A 33-year-old postgraduate researcher has been charged with the murder of university lab technician Elizabeth Stacey.

Steven Reid will appear at Marylebone magistrates court in central London on Friday, charged with the murder of Ms Stacey at Westminster University's Regent Street campus on 5 November.

The 24-year-old's battered body was found in a locked research laboratory.

Ms Stacey, from Finchley in north London, was found after members of her family reported her missing when she failed to return home from work.

Her body lay undetected for more than 24 hours in a room on the fourth floor of the former polytechnic campus.
