Eight British men arrested in anti-terror raids two weeks ago have appeared in court on Wednesday charged with conspiracy to murder.
The eight are also charged with conspiracy to commit a public nuisance by using radioactive material, toxic gas, chemicals or explosives.
The men appeared at Belmarsh Magistrates' Court where a full list of charges was read out to them.
They were all remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on 25 August.
All eight men were casually dressed and stood silently in the dock as the charges were read out.
A ninth man, Matthew Monks, 32, of Sudbury, London, held with them on 3 August appeared at the same court charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. He was released on bail.
Police have charged the eight with conspiring "together and with other persons unknown" between 1 January 2000 and 4 August 2004 under the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Two of the 13 arrested on 3 August were freed without charge; two more are no longer being questioned under the Terrorism Act but were rearrested on suspicion of other offences.
Three of the nine charged on Tuesday were also charged under the Terrorism Act 2000.
EIGHT MEN CHARGED
Dhiren Barot was charged with possessing reconnaissance plans of the Stock Exchange in New York, the IMF in Washington, and the Citigroup in New York and having notebooks with information on explosives, poisons, chemicals and related matters.
He was also charged with possessing a reconnaissance plan of the Prudential Building in New Jersey, US.
Nadeem Tarmohammed was also charged with the Prudential building offence.
The plans contained "information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000," police said.
Qaisar Shaffi was charged with having an extract of the Terrorist's Handbook, Scotland Yard said.
