Doctoring photos to massage the truth was once the preserve of Stalin, but now everyone's doing it.

The Beatles' famous Abbey Road LP cover has been altered in America to remove Paul McCartney's cigarette, while Kate Winslet's curves were digitally flattened out in GQ.
