About Nick Robinson

Nick Robinson can be seen most days reporting from Westminster for BBC News 24. He's the channel's chief political correspondent, a job which means he has to keep in the loop round the clock.

Each weekend he presents Straight Talk - a hack's review of the political week, and One to One, a feature interview with a leading political figure.

He also presents BBC Two's Westminster Live for its coverage of Parliament's weekly climax as the party leaders meet for Prime Minister's Questions.

Before joining News 24, he was the presenter of Late Night Live and Weekend Breakfast on BBC Radio Five Live.

He's a rare example of someone who's switched from being behind the mic to being in front of it. Nick used to be deputy editor of Panorama and On the Record. Before that he was a producer on Brass Tacks, Newsround, Crimewatch.

Born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, in 1963, he attended Cheadle Hulme School, followed by University College, Oxford where he studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Beyond the Westminster village, Nick spends his time trying to entertain three small children and, occasionally, his wife.
