Nato troops die in Afghan blast

A suicide car bomb blast has killed two Nato soldiers in eastern Afghanistan.

Four other soldiers and at least four civilian by-standers were injured when the car rammed a military convoy in the city of Jalalabad and exploded.

The nationality of the troops involved has not been revealed, but the majority of international troops based in the province are from the United States.

The BBC's Martin Patience, in Kabul, says similar car bombings have been carried out by Taleban insurgents.

He says they have vowed to step up their attacks against the Western-backed Afghan government and international troops stationed in the country.

Sixty-seven international soldiers have died in Afghanistan this year, AFP new agency reports.
