Further sectarian violence in Punjab

Police in the Pakistani province of Punjab say that two people have been killed in a suspected sectarian attack.

Reports say that a Shia Muslim herbalist was shot dead in his clinic in the town of Chishtian by three unidentified gunmen.

Police say one of the gunmen was killed by his own accomplices when his pistol went off accidentally, wounding him.

The police say they killed their accomplice to avoid their identities being disclosed.

However, they say they have recovered important documents from the dead man.

In the past month, about twenty people have been killed in sectarian violence in Pakistan's Punjab province.
