Zia aide arrested in Bangladesh
A top aide of Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has been arrested on allegations that he tried to lead a street demonstration, police say.
Hannan Shah, retired military commander and advisor to Ms Zia, is accused of violating the state of emergency.
He was picked up from his house in capital, Dhaka, on Wednesday night.
The military-backed interim government of Bangladesh has launched a crackdown on corruption in the country since assuming power in January.
About 160 former ministers and political leaders have been convicted over the past four months.
Khaleda Zia and her main rival, Sheikh Hasina of the Awami League, are also in jail facing trial on charges of extortion, corruption and abuse of power.
