Temple visit fuels wedding rumour

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have offered prayers at a Hindu temple, fuelling rumours that the two are close to getting married.

Rai, accompanied by the Bachchan family, prayed at the Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi on Monday.

The ex-Miss World has been romantically linked to Bachchan for sometime now.

Despite the considerable speculation in the Indian media, neither the actors nor their families have confirmed that marriage is on the cards.

Matching horoscopes

Pictures of Rai and Bachchan emerging from the Sankat Mochan temple with marigold garlands around their necks have set the tongues wagging.

The two actors were accompanied by Bollywood superstar and Abhishek's father, Amitabh Bachchan, his wife Jaya and several other family members.

Aishwarya Rai is one of the most popular and successful Bollywood actors, with several box office hits in recent years.

Abhishek Bachchan has also starred in several successful Bollywood films and was voted the sexiest Asian man by a British newspaper recently.

The actors have been paired on screen in a few films, including the recent Umrao Jaan, but they have failed to attract audiences.

But media reports speculating about their relationship off-screen has generated a lot of interest.

One report a few months ago suggested the families were matching their horoscopes and there were conflicting reports about whether the horoscopes were compatible or not.

In the past, Rai has been linked to other Bollywood actors, including Salman Khan and Viveik Oberoi.
