Shooting of a film starring Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was disrupted when angry parents at an Indian school accused her bodyguards of pushing them.
The scuffle took place when the school in Mumbai (Bombay) opened its gates to let parents collect their children.
Police were called in to restore order, after which filming resumed and the crew completed the shoot.
Jolie is in India to film A Mighty Heart, which is based on the life of murdered US journalist Daniel Pearl.
'You bloody Indian'
One parent, Mohammed Yusuf Patni, said he knew nothing of the filming until he arrived at the Anjuman-i-Islam school to pick up his sons, aged four and nine.
"We had the full permission and co-operation of the school to film on the premises "
"I was very upset that the school allowed shooting while classes were being held inside," he told the BBC.
"There were actors dressed in Pakistani policemen's uniforms, they were holding guns which scared the children."
Mr Patni said: "Children were waiting inside for us and when they opened the gates, those men pushed our ladies and children. They also said 'You bloody Indian'. This is just not done."
Mumbai's deputy commissioner of police, Brijesh Singh, told the BBC a formal complaint had been filed against the bodyguards.
"We will take appropriate action," he said.
A statement from the film producers said: "We had the full permission and co-operation of the school to film on the premises.
"Unfortunately, our arrival was impeded by the paparazzi waiting at the gates of the school.
"When the gates were opened to allow the parents in to collect their children, the paparazzi rushed into the school causing confusion."
Attracting attention
Angelina Jolie and partner, Brad Pitt, along with their three children, arrived in Mumbai on Saturday to shoot some parts of the film.
Actor Dan Futterman plays Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and murdered in Pakistan in 2002, while Jolie plays the role of his widow, Marianne.
Pitt and Jolie - one of Hollywood's most famous couples - have had their every move followed by the media since they arrived in India in the first week of October.
Pitt has accompanied her as the film is being co-produced by the company he founded along with ex-wife, actress Jennifer Aniston.
Earlier in the week, Jolie caused a stir when she boarded a crowded local train with Futterman in Mumbai.
A photographer who managed to get in the same compartment said one of her bodyguards had threatened to throw him out of the train if he tried to get too near or take pictures.
