Militants killed in Kashmir clash

Kashmir map Police in Indian-administered Kashmir say two suspected militants and a soldier have been killed in a clash.

The police said the incident happened in the Kushaal area in Doda district.

The identity of the militants has not been established so far, but police say two pro-Pakistan militant groups have been operating in the area.

Militant groups have been fighting an insurgency against Indian rule in Kashmir since 1989. The conflict has cost over 60,000 lives.

Police said the two militants and a soldier had died during an hour-long gun battle in the mountainous and forested Kushaal area on Wednesday morning.

Pro-Pakistan groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkat-e-Jehadi-Islami have been operating in the area, they added.
