Pakistan has successfully tested a long-range nuclear-capable missile, officials say.
The Shaheen II missile has a range of 2,000km (1,250 miles) and can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads. It is unclear where the test occurred.
Nuclear rivals India and Pakistan routinely test-fire their missiles.
The test comes two days after the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited Pakistan, after praising the country's peace process with India.
Kashmir has been a flashpoint between the two nuclear powers for more than 50 years.
There was no immediate reaction to the test from Delhi.
