Tremors hit India and Pakistan

Two moderate earthquakes, just minutes apart, have rocked Pakistan and northern India.

Buildings in the Pakistani border city of Lahore shook with a pre-dawn tremor which registered a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale but there were no reports of casualties or damage.

Twelve minutes later, a tremor measuring 5.2 was centred on the remote and sparsely-inhabited area between the mountainous states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The tremors followed Saturday's first anniversary of the devastating earthquake that killed more than 20,000 people in the western Indian state of Gujarat.
