Pakistani villagers 'stone woman'
Reports from Pakistan say villagers in southern Sindh province have stoned and beaten a 100-year-old woman after they said she had tried to eat a new-born baby.
A newspaper report in the leading English-language daily, the Dawn, said the woman was beaten unconscious on Sunday by a mob armed with stones and clubs.
She had allegedly entered a family home in Shahpat village and tried to eat a baby.
It is not known if the child was hurt.
Police reportedly handcuffed the woman, but the mob continued to throw stones while the police looked on passively.
