Tens of thousands of Afghan refugees are still fleeing the US-led bombing campaign in a desperate attempt to reach safety before winter sets in.
A coalition of charitable organisations has urged Washington to respect humanitarian law in its Afghan operations, particularly in its attempts to protect civilians.
