Bangladesh caretaker leader rejects bias
The head of the caretaker government in Bangladesh, the former chief justice, Latifur Rahman, has rejected accusations of bias from the two main political parties.
Mr Rahman said he was aware of his responsibilities and would not bow to pressure from any side in the run-up to the elections in October.
His remarks come after the former prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, criticised him for several decisions, including the transfer of 13 top civil servants while she was still in power.
And her rival Begum Khaleda Zia accused his government of failing to be neutral by giving supporters of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League party administrative posts.
