Schools are being given the opportunity to take part in a dress rehearsal for the UK-wide News Day.
School Reporters are taking part in the second of four practice News Days on Thursday 10 December.
It is a chance for schools to dive in at the deep end and see what they can achieve.
During the ultimate News Day on 11 March 2010 students will be working to a 2pm deadline to create video, audio and text-based news before publishing it on their school website by 4pm.
Schools taking part in a practice News Day might like to rehearse some of these elements.
The first practice News Day took place on Thursday 19 November.
PRACTICE NEWS DAYSDuring the day, the progress of students across the UK progress will be featured in an hour-by-hour account, enabling students to compare their work with other School Reporters.
The choice of news topics to report is completely up to the the students, but one issue they may like to cover is climate change to coincide with the United Nations' Conference in Copenhagen. You might find the BBC's Copenhagen summit 2009 special report useful.
Schools may also run practice News Days on any date they choose.
During School Report 2008/9, some schools took part in all four practice News Days in order, giving different students the chance to rehearse and also to ensure a smooth operation on the UK-wide News Day.
If you would like to take part, please contact the School Report team using the form below so they can contact you on the day.
