UK suicide bombers

Taleban fighters In a Real Story special investigation, Paul Kenyon examines the recruitment network encouraging British Muslims to die as suicide bombers.

Last week the Muslim Council of Britain took the unprecedented step of writing to every mosque, urging everyone in their community to help in the fight against terror.

The overwhelming majority responded positively, but some rejected the call.

Of great concern to the security services is a small but growing number of young British Muslims who are increasingly prepared to consider violence - some even going as far as to volunteer to become suicide bombers.

Investigative reporter Paul Kenyon uncovers the real story of the young men who dream of "martyrdom" and asks if enough is being done to stop the activities of militant groups.

Reporter Paul Kenyon writes about the programme:

Real Story: BBC One, Monday 5 April 2004, 1930 BST and live on the Real Story website.
