Icelandic Banks - £224m of Londoner’s money was deposited in Icelandic banks that collapsed.
The Olympics - The current budget of £9.3bn is roughly £7bn over the original estimate.
Metronet - Transport for London claim the demise of this tube up-grade company cost Londoners nearly £1bn - we are now paying for it in fare hikes.
Bankers Bonuses - At an estimated £6bn this year, some wonder how appropriate it is in an industry propped up by the taxpayer.
The Cost of MPs - On top of expenses, a pint of lager is £2.10 in Parliament. The London average is £3.10.

Just over a year ago London was proclaiming itself the greatest city on Earth. That was before the crash.

In light of the prevailing mood of 'cut, cut, cut' we have assembled a panel of four notable London political figures:

Justin Greening, Conservative MP for Putney and shadow minister for London; Susan Kramer, Lib Dem MP for Richmond Park and former London mayoral candidate; Stephen Pound Labour MP for Ealing North; and Tony Travers from the LSE.

The panel will take a look at what they deem to be the biggest waste of public spending in the capital.
