Julie Myerson was born in Nottingham in 1960 and worked as a publicist at the National Theatre and for Walker (children's) Books before winning the Elle Magazine Talent Contest and becoming a full time writer.
She is the author of the novels Something Might Happen, Sleepwalking, The Touch, Me And The Fat Man, and Laura Blundy.
Something Might Happen was shortlisted for the W.H. Smith Literary Award and Sleepwalking was shortlisted for the prestigious John Llewellyn Rhys Prize.
Her first non-fiction title Home: The Story of Everyone Who Ever Lived in Our House was published by Harper Collins in 2004 and dramatised on BBC Radio Four's Woman's Hour.
It was also published in paperback in April 2005.
Her memoir, Not a Games Person, was published by Random House's Yellow Jersey Press in June 2005.
Julie Myerson's work has been translated into many languages. Her latest book is Out of Breath (2008).
She lives in South London with her partner, the award-winning writer and director Jonathan Myerson and their three children.
