FEEDING THE WORLD

There are places in the world where history seems to be running backwards: children are stopping going to school. The reason, so they can work in the fields because it's the only way their family can get enough to eat.

Meanwhile, in the UK we're putting agricultural products in our petrol tanks to help fight global warming. A painstaking international survey has warned there is a looming catastrophe unless farming is radically reformed.

Jeremy Paxman reports on the food crisis around the world.
