In a HardTalk interview first broadcast on 1 April 2008, Stephen Sackur talks to Prince Hassan about the US legacy in Iraq and the wider implications for the Middle East.

As the clock runs down on the Bush administration, the US President insists victory in Iraq is still achievable and there's still time to guide Israel and the Palestinians to a lasting peace.

But does anyone believe him?

Stephen Sackur talks to Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan, one of the Arab world's most experienced political figures, about the George W. Bush legacy in the Middle East.

HARDtalk is broadcast on BBC World at 03:30 GMT, 08:30 GMT, 14:30 GMT, 18:30 GMT and 21:30 GMT.

Hardtalk can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 & 23:30.
