On Thursday 16th February Sarah Montague talks to American pastor Jim Wallis.

Should religion have a role in politics ?

America's political system ensures there's a strict separation between the Church and the State.

But President Bush is a religious man who talks of being driven by his faith.

Jim Wallis is an American preacher who argues that there has to be a place for religion in politics, indeed it is the duty of religion to give a moral lead to government, but he also beleives that America is getting it wrong..

Sarah Montague talks to Pastor Jim Wallis about the roles of religion and state.
