Patrick Stewart - back on stage

Patrick Stewart In a HardTalk Extra interview screened on 16 December, Gavin Esler spoke to the actor Patrick Stewart.


Patrick Stewart is known round the world for his role in Star Trek.

But he began his career working with the best theatrical directors at the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre.

Last year he quit Los Angeles to return to his native England, and his first love, the stage.

Taking time out from his one-man show in London's West End, A Christmas Carol, he talks to Gavin Esler about his life-long fascination with theatre, and whether he has really left Hollywood behind.
