Waste and recycling: Help and advice

If you are concerned about the dumping of waste or want to find out more about recycling, advice is available on this web page.

ILLEGAL DUMPING

Illegal dumping costs taxpayers tens of millions of pounds each year and causes serious damage to the environment. Very few of those responsible are caught and tip-offs from members of the public are often vital in bringing those responsible to justice.

Advice on reporting illegal dumping:
The Environment Agency website below explains who to contact if you suspect illegal dumping. It may be the local authority for smaller local problems, or it could be the police or the Environment Agency for large scale activities like those featured in the BBC One programme, Dumping on Britain.
