More Lebanese Christians return home

Police in Lebanon say twenty-four more Lebanese Christians who fled to Israel after its troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon in May have returned home.

They were taken to the coastal town of Naqoura in buses run by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon or UNIFIL.

Police said that among those returning, three former members of the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army were detained.

More than six thousand Lebanese, most of them SLA militiamen and their families, left Lebanon after the Israeli withdrawal, fearing reprisals.
