Two car bombs have exploded in central Baghdad, killing 12 people, Iraqi police say.
The blasts were in the busy Karrada district, near a courthouse and passport office.
More than 30 other people were injured in the attacks. More than 30 cars were burnt in the explosions.
The two bombings coincided with a previously unannounced visit to Baghdad by the United States defence secretary Robert Gates.
